Check to make sure your benefits cover mental health counseling/therapy with a MSW level Registered Social Worker

Both! We offer virtual therapy via the Jane app as well as in person sessions in our office 524 Simcoe St Oshawa

I encourage people to make the best choice for themselves by considering the following factors: Start with a Consultation. I offer a free online consultation. You may use this to gauge comfort with me and ask questions that are important to you.

Try a Few Sessions

It often takes 2-3 sessions to truly assess the fit. Don’t feel pressured to commit long-term right away.

Be Honest About What You Need

Want someone more structured? More nurturing? Direct? Know what didn’t wor before or what did and you want more of, then address it. I also encourage people to be honest about their experience in session and if at any time your needs are not being met we can recalibrate or repair.

Check Credentials

If looking at various therapists, ask not only about educational credentials (which are likely standard) but also about clinical training that they have taken to support their practice.

Use Review Platforms Carefully

Psychology Today, TherapyDen, or Zencare often let you filter by specialty, identity, insurance, and more. Don’t rely solely on reviews-chemistry is personal.

We require 24 hours notice to cancel or change an appointment, or you will be required to pay the full fee for the missed appointment.
